In a world that constantly asks us to move faster, forest bathing invites us to slow down.
Join us for a 45-minute introduction to forest bathing at Conservation Garden Park. Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, forest bathing is not a hike or exercise program. Instead, it is a guided opportunity to slow down, engage your senses, and connect more deeply with the natural world around you.
During this experience, you'll be invited to explore simple mindfulness and sensory awareness practices designed to help quiet mental chatter, reduce stress, and support nervous system regulation. Together, we'll notice the sights, sounds, textures, scents, and subtle details that are often overlooked in our busy lives.
This experience involves minimal physical activity and is accessible to most participants. No prior meditation or mindfulness experience is necessary.
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, seeking a moment of calm, or simply curious about forest bathing, this gentle introduction offers an opportunity to pause, reconnect with nature, and experience the benefits of slowing down.
Interested in making a morning of it? Free yoga is offered outdoors in the garden beginning at 9:00 AM. You're welcome to attend one or both experiences and enjoy a morning of movement, mindfulness, and connection with nature. More info and registration for yoga here.
